Leadership Dakota County alumni support Siouxland Freedom Park fundraising efforts

An iconic building along the riverfront in South Sioux City will soon see completion thanks to a dedicated group of local volunteers.
Alumni from Leadership Dakota County have made it their mission to raise $250,000 to complete the interior of the Interpretive Center at Siouxland Freedom Park, a museum dedicated to remembering veterans and their contributions. Diana Kincaid, who is leading the group with Mike LaCroix in the fundraising efforts, says, “Our Leadership Dakota County Alumni group, 15 years strong, had been looking for a way to give back to our community.  We voted to adopt Siouxland Freedom Park and lead the effort to fundraise the needed monies to complete the building.”
It’s hoped construction on the inside of the Interpretive Center will begin by 2021, if not sooner.  The Siouxland Interpretive Center will feature displays and state-of-the-art electronic exhibits showcasing veterans and the sacrifices so many have made. 
The Leadership Dakota County (even across county and state lines) group is open to ANYONE who would like to help support Siouxland Freedom Park to join their committee in fundraising for this cause.  There are also breakout committees in fundraising, event planning, facilities and marketing.

Siouxland Freedom Park is home to the only half-scale exact replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located in Washington, D.C.  The park is also the backdrop for special events and observances featuring veterans.
